My stomach has not been very reliable the last few days. In such circumstances it is best to stay a safe place, where toilet can be reached in very short time. But tomorrow (Feb 7) I have to move on for Lake District in Chile.

Today I visited the area around Plaza de Armas, which is considered to be the heart of Santiago. Some pictures can be seen here. I also purchased a bus-ticket for Villarrica in Lake District.

Now it will be really nice to just get away from busy streets, and venture into the nature again. Lake District is a mix of volcanos, dense forrest, hot springs and beautiful lakes of course. Probably a little bit like New Zealand, and maybe similar to Norway as well. I plan to climb Volcan Villarrica among others.
